Australia chosen as major F-35 MRO component in Asia Pacific Region

Australia has been chosen to provide maintenance, repair, overhaul and upgrade for the components of the Joint Strike Fighter in the Asia Pacific Region, announced Minister for Defence Industry Christopher Pyne on Tuesday. Pyne said this contract will create and sustain hundreds if not thousands of jobs, bringing about 100 million Australian dollars (77 million U.S. dollars) to the economy. 
Australia has purchased 72 F-35A aircraft for three operational squadrons at RAAF Base Williamtown and RAAF Base Tindal
