U.S. army is planning to equip its soldiers with miniature drones by 2018.

The U.S. Army is planning to equip its soldiers with miniature drones by 2018 in order to assist with ground operations. In March 2016, the U.S. army has released a Request for Information (RFI) to equip U.S. soldiers with miniature UAVs. 
In July 2014, the United States Army Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center (NSRDEC) selected the PD-100 Black Hornet after looking at commercially available small-scale UAVs as part of the Cargo Pocket Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (CP-ISR) program.
