The Royal Jordanian Air Force receives APKWS units for integration on its CN-235 gunship aircraft

The US Navy and industry partner BAE recently shipped 110 Advanced Precision Kill Weapons System (APKWS) units to Jordan for integration on its CASA CN-235 light gunship aircraft. Jordan is the first international partner to receive APKWS, a laser-guided rocket that can destroy targets while limiting collateral damage in close combat, the Navy announced today.

Direct hit for the Orbital ATK’s AGM-88E AARGM missile

Israel about to retire its last Merkava Mark II main battle tanks

After 33 years of loyal service, the Israel Defense Forces’ Armored Corps is retiring the Merkava Mark II tank from service by its conscripted brigades. The tank will now be used only by reserve forces for border patrols during times of conflict, while the newer Merkava Mark III (which entered service in 1990) and the new generation Merkava Mark IV (2004) will handle all battlefield missions.

China Launched its 8th Type 052D Destroyer while the 4th Started Sea Trials with PLAN

Based on several pictures that have been released by Chinese spotters, it appears that the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN or Chinese Navy) fourth Type 052D (NATO reporting name Luyang III class) destroyer started sea trials. In the meantime, another Type 052D was launched on November 28th. It is the 8th vessel in the class and the first one launched at the Dalian naval shipyard (Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Company member of CSIC - China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation).

Russia to create several new missile and artillery units to increase Russian armed forces by 2021

Russia is to create several large missile and artillery units within its ground forces by 2021, the ground forces’ commander, Mikhail Matveyevsky told the media on Thursday, November 26, 2015. Chinese Army PLA Commissioned a Logistics Support Ship for South China Sea Islands Support

The Chinese Ministry of Nationa Defense announced that a new logistics support ship of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) began its service in Sansha City, south China's Hainan Province, on the morning of November 23, 2015. The supply ship (hull number GY820) is the largest of its kind in the PLA Army with a maximum displacement of 2,700 tons. The 90 meters long and 14.6 meters wide vessel will be based in the South China Sea region to support replenishment operations.

Russian army received two sets of new brigade and division 9K333 Verba MANPADS

The KBM Design Bureau of Kolomna /KBM, incorporated by the High Precision Systems holding company/ in late November handed over to the troops two brigade and two divisional sets of new 9K333 Verba man-portable air defense systems, fulfilling the 2013 contracts. Korea Aerospace Industries Ltd., South Korea's sole aircraft manufacturer, said Friday that it has made the first delivery of its multi-mission jets to the Philippines, further solidifying its status as an aircraft exporter. The two FA-50PH took off from Sacheon, 437 kilometers south of Seoul, to make the 2,482 kilometer "ferry flight" to the Philippines. The pair are expected to arrive at Clark Air Base on Saturday, KAI said.

South Korea starts using 3-D printing for ROKAF's F-15K fighters support

The Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) has introduced three-dimensional printing in its production of engine components for fighter jets which helps cut budget and time on maintenance, it said Thursday. So far this year, 14 of the ROKAF's F- 15K fighter jets have been repaired with 3-D printed high-pressure turbine shrouds, an engine component, according to the country's Air Force.
