On July 26, 2014, Petro Poroshenko, President of Ukraine visited the first operational brigade of National Guard in the training center located in Novi Petrivtsi. Petro Poroshenko got acquainted with weaponry and military equipment samples, which are to be sent to ATO area. He examined ammunition, sniper complexes, artillery armament, air-to-air defence means, grenade launchers, and module complex for placement of fighters.

Royal Australian Navy MH-60R 'Romeo' helicopter fires AGM-114 Hellfire missile for the 1st time

The Royal Australian Navy’s newest maritime combat helicopter, the MH-60R Seahawk ‘Romeo’, has successfully fired its first ‘Hellfire’ missile in the United States. The AGM-114 Hellfire air-to-surface missile was fired by Navy’s 725 Squadron from aircraft currently deployed to the United States Navy’s Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Centre off the Florida coast.

British army will send 1,350 troops with main battle tank Challenger 2 in Poland for NATO exercise.

United Kingdom will send an armoured battle group of tanks and 1,350 troops to Poland for NATO war games designed to sure up the alliance’s eastern members against fears of Russian aggression. The British army will deployed more than 350 combat vehicles including 20 Challenger II main battle tanks as part of Exercise Black Eagle in October.

Japan and France today agreed to enhance defence cooperation, including the joint development of military equipment, Japanese officials said. Czech government agrees defence cooperation with Rwanda to provide training and armament

The Czech government approved the signing of a defence cooperation agreement with Rwanda, which may open Rwanda's market to Czech armament firms, said the government on its website. Russia continues to strengthen its military presence near the border with Ukraine.

Russia continues to build up its military presence in close proximity to the border with Ukraine, National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) spokesman Andriy Lysenko has said, on Thursday, July 24, 2014. Lysenko also said that in a forest not far from the villages of Churovichi, Zeleny Kut and Rudnya-Tsata in the Bryansk region, ten kilometers from the border with northern Ukraine, Russia continued to equip camouflaged firing positions of infantry fighting vehicles.

China has successfully conducted test missile interception with HQ-16A surface-to-air missile system.

China has announced the success of a missile interception test conducted from land with HQ-16A ground-to-air defense missile system. The test, conducted within its territory late on Wednesday, "achieved the preset goal", according to a statement posted on the website of the Ministry of National Defense. Military authorities provided no other information about the operation.

China to donate technical and medical equipment to Serbian Armed Forces.

Chinese and Serbian defense ministries Wednesday, July 23, 2014, signed a protocol by which China agreed to donate technical and medical equipment worth 355,000 euros (about 479,250 U.S. dollars) as a way of assistance after heavy floods hit the country mid-May. The protocol for the donation was signed by the representative of the Chinese Ministry of National Defense, Senior Colonel Wang Haibin, and chief of the Serbian Military Medicine Department Brigadier General Zoran Popovic.

Chinese Army would like to deploy unmanned ground combat vehicles in the future.

Chinese military has started research on developing unmanned armoured vehicles including main battle tanks for deployment in future battles as part of an ambitious plan to modernise its defences. China is making efforts to convert its existing armoured fighting vehicles into unmanned ones for future warfare operations, a senior military official has said.
