The Turkish Defence Company Otokar will display the Arma 8x8 for the first time at the IDEF 2011, defense fair in Istanbul to be held May 10-13. The Arma is an amphibious tactical wheeled armored vehicle. It has a high degree of ballistic and mine protection, thanks to its high steel hull.

New UAV UAS unmanned systems vehicles feature area at DSEi 2011 reflects growth in market
The market for Unmanned Systems (US) is set to show steady growth over the next ten years with total values for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) increasing annually from just over $3 billion in 2011 to more than $5.5 billion in 2019. This growth is reflected in the new feature area, the Robotics and Unmanned Systems Showcase, at DSEi - Europe's leading event for land, sea and air defence and security solutions and equipment, which takes place at ExCeL London from 13 - 16 September 2011.

New Zealand Light Armoured Vehicle has been hit by an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan
A New Zealand LAV light armoured vehicle has been hit by an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan's Bamyan Province. The unit was hit around 12.30pm New Zealand time, with no injuries reported yet.
